summer intensives, instagram, and pointe shoes
Hey everyone! Wow long time no write! Sorry about that, I've been really busy with performances and summer intensive classes.
So first order of business: Life en Pointe got an instagram! Please, please check it out and follow at lifeenpointesince2010. I plan on posting amazing dance pictures and posts connected to the posts I do on this blog. Tag me or hashtag lifeenpointe and/or girlwithabun for a possible shoutout or repost.
Second order of business: summer intensives. I'm sure many of you have been busy this summer doing ballet or dance intensives. I did my dance studio's 6 week intensive that included ballet, stretch and strength, jazz, variation, goal setting, and theatrical makeup. It has been so hard and so fun! Our last day is tomorrow but then they will be having kick-start classes starting next week.
Have any of you dear readers been at an out of town intensive? My friend/pas de duex partner got accepted to Boston Ballet's summer program on full scholarship and just returned home this week. What a great experience he had! I can't wait until I go!
Third order of business: pointe shoe problems. A little before our June performance, my dance teachers and I realized that my pointe shoes were too small and they were holding me above the ground. Since then we have been on the search for a pointe shoe that is wide enough for my feet and lasts longer than a day (my current Freeds). I am going to try Russian Pointe's Muse and maybe some Gaynor Mindens. Do any of you wear those brands or have had similar problems with shoes dying too quickly or being to narrow? Comment below if you do, I'd love to hear any suggestions or opinions you might have.
Thank you all so much for reading my blog! Comment below, check out my instagram, and always keep dancing!!
